Day 1: Moore River

Head north from Perth and start your road trip off by exploring the crystal-clear waters of Moore River. Hire a kayak or paddle board and spend the day kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, or swimming in the shallow waters. You can stop for lunch at one of the cafes in the area or enjoy a picnic on the riverbank. You can also go fishing or crabbing in the river and cook up whatever you catch for dinner. Set up camp at one of the campsites nearby Moore River by the late afternoon and take in the breathtaking sunsets as you wind down for the day.

Day 2: Cervantes

Leave Moore River in the morning and head to Cervantes. On your way, stop by and explore the nearby Pinnacles Desert to see the unique limestone formations, and learn about the area’s history and ecology. Afterwards, take a trip to Lake Thetis to see the stromatolites. Finish your day by setting up camp at one of the free camping sites near Cervantes and relax under the stars.

Day 3: Jurien Bay

Your next stop is Jurien Bay. Spend a day here to enjoy this stunning beachside town. Go for a dip at one of the stunning beaches or relax on the sand. If you are feeling adventurous, you can join a tour and snorkel with sea lions. Finish the day off with a visit to the Jurien Bay Marine Park, where you can learn about the local marine life and take a tour of the aquarium. Camp for the night at nearby Sandy Cape. We recommend getting to Sandy Cape early so that you get a spot before the campsite fills up. After you have set up camp, you can take a stroll along the beach right next to the campsite and watch the sun go down.

Day 4: Greenhead

Drive to the nearby town of Greenhead and spend the day exploring the beautiful landscape. Unwind with a BBQ and picnic at Dynamite Bay. Enjoy a swim at the beach and soak up the sun. After you have finished exploring Greenhead, continue north where you can find some free camps to stay at for the night.

Day 5: Lancelin

On your final day, leave Greenhead in the early morning so that you have plenty of time to enjoy the journey back to Perth. Stop by Lancelin, a small coastal town near Perth, on your way. Spend the morning and early afternoon exploring the white sand beaches, sand dunes and coastal wetlands. If you like, you can hire a sandboard and go sandboarding on the dunes. Leave Lancelin by 3pm to make sure that you arrive back in Perth before it gets too late.
