FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
How many people can sleep in the 2–5 seater campervan?
The van sleeps up to four people comfortably — two inside on the double bed, and two more in the rooftop tent. The van legally seats six with the fold-away bench seat in the back, but for overnight trips, four is the sweet spot. If you’re travelling as a larger group, a couple of people are welcome to bring their own tent and camp alongside the van.
How does the rooftop tent work?
The rooftop tent is built into the roof of the van and pops up quickly when you’re ready to set up camp. It sleeps two adults comfortably and comes with its own mattress. You’ll need bedding for it — either bring your own or add the Bloody Good Package, which includes bedding for both the internal bed and the rooftop tent. It’s a great option for clear nights under the stars, though we’d suggest the internal bed if you’re heading north in the wet season.
Is this van suitable for families with young children?
It can work well for families. Child seat anchor points are available in this van — just let us know before booking so we can confirm suitability for your specific seat. The fold-away bench seat in the rear gives kids a dedicated space during the day, and the double bed inside means parents can sleep comfortably. We’d always recommend getting in touch before you book so we can help you figure out the best setup for your family.
What's a good road trip itinerary for a group in this van?
This van is built for bigger adventures, so don’t hold back. A popular route is Perth to Exmouth and Ningaloo Reef — stunning coastline, world-class snorkelling, and plenty of free and low-cost campsites along the way. If your group is up for something more remote, Karijini National Park is hard to beat (just note the one-off $150 Karijini fee). Heading south, the Margaret River region and the South West are fantastic for a shorter trip. Get in touch and we can help you map out something that suits your timeframe and the size of your group.
How is the 2–5 seater different from the 2–3 seater vans?
The biggest differences are the fold-away bench seat and the rooftop tent. The 2–5 seater can carry more passengers and sleep more people, making it the go-to choice for groups of three or four. The 2–3 seater vans are a better fit for couples or solo travellers who want a more compact setup. All three vans share the same slide-out kitchen, automatic transmission, and core kit — it’s really just a matter of how many people you’re bringing.
Is the Bloody Good Package worth it for this van?
For most groups travelling more than a few nights, yes. The Bloody Good Package for the 2–5 seater costs $110 and bundles the inverter, bedding for both the internal bed and the rooftop tent, an external table and benches, and a light and fan. Buying those items individually would cost more, and having bedding sorted for both sleeping areas before you even pick up the van is one less thing to think about.
Can the fold-away bench seat be used while driving?
Yes — the bench seat is a legal rear passenger seat with seatbelts. It folds away when not in use, which frees up space for gear during the drive or converts the back into a living area once you’ve parked up. It’s a practical feature if you’re travelling with a small group who want to sit together on the road.
